Sevastopol - a sea trade, fishing port, industrial, scientific, recreational center in Southern Ukraine.
  Significant reduction in the Navy and its needs in the coastal infrastructure actually released the bulk of available power, capital, deep-water berths, ship-repair facilities, buildings, and shore installations. Sevastopol has performed reorganization and restructuring of large businesses serving the Navy and the Armed Forces. There are two specialized sea ports, five shipyards, four oil terminals, 22 anchoring positions. They were created and continue to work on a base of maritime economy complex.  Sevastopol maintains cargo-and-passenger traffic with more than 40 countries. Since 1992 the ports have been opened for foreign vessels. About 1 000 ships make port-calls to Sevastopol each year. The Sevastopol’s mooring line is 34 km long. 

    In 2011 in obedience to the last rating estimation, conducted in accordance with Order of leadthrough of complex estimation of socio-economic development of the Autonomous Republic Crimea, regions, cities of Kiev and Sevastopol (decision of КМУ from 20.06.2007 №833), among 27 regions of Ukraine Sevastopol on the indexes of socio-economic development took 12 seat and today is characterized by such indexes:

Industry and building

- on results work of industrial enterprises of city the index of industrial products was 111,9%, the increase of issue of products was observed almost on all basic types of industrial activity;

- by the building enterprises of city of all patterns of ownership for 8 months 2011 years executed building works in a volume 209227,0 thousand UAH, that in comparative prices is 122,1%  to the volume of building  of the proper period 2010 years;

- for January-June, 2011 due to building of new dwelling-houses 100,6 thousands of м2 general area of habitation (1083 apartments) are put into operation, that in 3,4 time more than in January-June, 2010 (an index settles accounts quaterly).

Point-of-sale port

- volume of processing of loads in point-of-sale and fish ports and on industrial marine moorages in January-August, 2011 as compared to January-August of the last year was increased on 5,2% and was made a 4605,8 thousand t. Processing of export loads was multiplied on 8,4%, the amount of the treated ships made 707 units, that on 76 ships more than in January-August, 2010, including oversea and infraht - a 271 unit;

- the volume of export of commodities of Sevastopol for January-July, 2011 was 72347,3 billions USD and in relation to January-July, 2010 was increased on 44,8%, import - 48222,5 billions USD and was increased on 35,0%. Positive balance of foreign trade by commodities was 24124,8 billions USD (for January-July, 2010 - 14223,3 billions USD). The coefficient of coverage by the export of import was 1,50 (against 1,40 in January-July, 2010).

   Sevastopol carried out foreign trades operations by commodities with partners from 98 countries of world. Most export deliveries were carried out in a Russian Federation - 39,4% from the general volume of export, Turkey 20,5%, Australia - 6,9%, Germany – 6,6%, Mauritania - 3,3%, India  2,8%;

- on the state on 01.07.2011 volume of direct foreign investments (equity) in the economy of Sevastopol made 162758,3 thousands USA, that on 5,9% more than on 01.01.2011г., and calculating on the soul of population made 429,8 USA. For January-June, 2011 the increase of the combined volume of foreign equity in the economy of city taking into account his overvalue, losses, exchange rate difference, made 9135,8 thousands of USA. Investments acted from a 31 country of world. To the basic countries-investors which a 69,1% general volume of direct investments is on, belong: Cyprus is 86862,9 thousands USD. The USA and a Russian Federation is 25573,7 thousands USA (an index settles accounts quaterly).

Trade 

- the turn of retail business for January-August, 2011 made 5146,5 million UAH, that in relation to January-August, 2010 in comparative prices was 118,8%. Turn of restaurant economy for current period 2011 years as compared to the proper period 2010 years was increased on 4,6% (in comparative prices) and was made 287,3 million UAH Calculating on the soul of population (on January, 1, 2011) retail commodity turnover made 833,5 UAH (on the average for a month);

 - on the state on August, 01, 2011 the average monthly nominal wages of workers and office workers  made  2381,0 UAH, that on 15,0% more index of the proper period 2010 years. The index of wages for January-July, 2011 in relation to January-July, 2010 was 102,1%. In July, 2011 middle nominal wages of regular workers in town Sevastopol made 2544,0 UAH, that on 14,1% more index July, 2010, and exceeded in 2,65 time the level of living wage facial capable (960 UAH) of working and wages (960 UAH).

Receipts in a budget 

- for January-August, 2011 the receipts in the budget of city were 1040,5 million UAH (67,5% annual volume), including transfer funds from the state budget are provided in a sum 429,5 million UAH (41,3% profitable part of budget of city). The volume of budget for 8 months 2011 years exceeded on a 29% volume of budget 8-and months 2010 years or on 233,6 million UAH Receipts of taxes and collections (obligatory payments) in the general fund of budget were 507,4 million UAH (68,2% ratified volume and 106,8% painting). In the special fund of budget of city facilities are included in a volume 212,1 million UAH, including: personal funds of budgetary establishments  in a sum 49,6 million UAH, that on 7,2 million UAH there are more collected monies in 2010. From the state budget facilities of abstracted in a volume 108,6 million UAH, including on development of socio-economic sphere of city in a volume 35,1 million UAH Index of МFU on the receipts of profits which are taken into account at determination of volume of interbudgetary, executed on 102,2%, overfulfilment made 8,3 million UAH.
